Fans of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web-series, starring Michael Jai White, Darren Shahlavi, Jeri Ryan and Tamoh Penniket, got some good news during Comic-Con this week. The series, based on the fighting game of the same name, is getting a second season.
The series came about after director Kevin Tancharoen created the short film Mortal Kombat: Rebirth as a feature-film pitch for Warner Bros. Sadly, it never got the green light for production with Warner Bros. instead opting to fund an original web-series. Shortly there after Mortal Kombat: Legacy was in production, with the first episode hitting YouTube on April 11, 2011.
While the first season focused mainly on character origins and setting up a new Mortal Kombat universe, Tancharoen has revealed that season two will introduce the actual Mortal Kombat tournament, bringing with it more visual effects and action.
As expected, a new season means new characters and Tancharoen wasn't shy at all about revealing which Kombatants will be entering the arena this time around. While I could type out a list for everyone, why not check out the official announcement video below – it's much more entertaining.
