While most of us were prepping fireworks and grilling massive amounts of meat, Activision decided to celebrate our Independence Day by revealing a huge Call of Duty DLC sale meant to entice those of us you haven't stepped up yet. It also turns out that the “Terminal” map from Modern Warfare 2 will be making it's way to Modern Warfare 3.
Much to the dismay of many Call of Duty ELITE subscribers, Activision has reveled that all DLC map packs for Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 will be available at 50% off for all players through July 9th. So what's the catch? There isn't one. Apparently Activision is just feeling nice this week and a percentage of each DLC sale will go to benefit America's veteran soldiers.
While 50% is a good deal, free is always better in my book. Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin has revealed through a series of tweets that the popular Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map, Terminal, will be heading to Modern Warfare 3 as a free download (no ELITE necessary) for all players with Xbox 360 users seeing it first. Rubin said the map has already entered Microsoft certification, but as of writing this a release date has not been revealed.
While we're on the topic of multiplayer maps, which past Call of Duty map which you like to see in present or future Call of Duty titles? Personally, I really miss Firing Range from Black Ops. Hit the comments and share your thoughts!
Update: Infinity Ward has confirmed that Terminal will be available to ELITE subscribers on Xbox 360 July 17th and non-ELITE subscribers July 18th. Still no word on when PC and PS3 users will have access.
