Ubisoft's downloadable survival action game ends its exclusivity on the 360 in April and gets a companion app for iOS devices.
After a little under a two month head start on the 360, I Am Alive is heading to the PS3 on April 4th, being a long time in coming to both consoles. The critical response has been mixed to positive on Ubisoft's latest experiment, but it looks like the overwhelming consensus is that whatever its faults, I Am Alive brings some interesting ideas about survival-based games to the table.
In case you've forgotten, here's the plot:
One year after a worldwide cataclysmic event that wiped out most of the human race, a man struggles for survival in a desolate city as he tries to reunite with his long lost family. In this post-apocalyptic tale, there are no supernatural threats, just an everyman who faces a decaying and hazardous world and humanity’s darkest inclinations. Will you hang on to your humanity and help strangers or are you ready to sacrifice others in order to survive?
In addition to the PSN release, the game is has a free companion app for iOS devices, that acts sort of like a special features platform for I Am Alive. It includes the soundtrack, stills, videos, and a map from the game. You can download it from the App Store now.
