We've known for quite some time that Telltale Games has been working on a console game based on Robert Kirkman's successful The Walking Dead comic book series. What we didn't know is when the game was going to be released or what platforms it would be available for. Thankfully, all of that has changed.
According to a recent report from IGN, Telltale's The Walking Dead is going to make it's way to home consoles in April. Not only that, the game is going to see a wide release across multiple platforms including Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. The zombie horror title will be released as 5 separate episodes with the first released on April 1st and the following episodes released "regularly" after that.
Telltale has released a lot of games in the episodic format, so there's no surprise there. However, the April 1st release date did actually catch me a little off guard. It was just recently revealed that AMC's The Walking Dead Social Game (which draws canon from the show) would also make it's debut on Facebook April 1st. I guess that means fans of the franchise have a lot of gaming to look forward to next month.
