It looks like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 isn't the only way you'll get to play as Morrigan and Felicia this year if the ever-dependable ESRB listings are to be trusted: Capcom's Darkstalkers 3 looks like it's making a return to Playstation consoles sometime in the near future.
More info after the jump.
It's been a couple of years since a Darkstalkers title was available on any platform. Actually, it was Darkstalkers 3, and that platform was the PSP back during that handheld's launch in '04. It's curious that Capcom would go back to that well again, although I suppose the relative ease of simply porting the game must make it a more attractive prospect. On the plus side, this means that the Vita won't lack for quality fighting games in its first year (along with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter X Tekken, and Mortal Kombat).
For all intents and purposes, there hasn't really been a "new" Darkstalkers game in nearly 15 years, making this a weirdly under-exploited series by its publisher. By the way, under that ESRB listing, it looks like as with the PSP release, Sony will be handling publishing duties on the PSN/PS Vita port of the game.
We'll bring you any more news about this release as it develops.
