'Darksiders' To Get Novelized In May

Posted 2/2/12 12:00 pm EST by Charles Webb in Books, News, PC, PS3, Video, Xbox 360

Prequel novel gives us the adventures of the Four Horsemen pre-apocalypse.

With Darksiders II coming sometime this summer, THQ has partnered up with the Random House imprint Del Rey to release Darksiders: The Abomination Vault, set well before the first game and following the Horsemen as they attempt stop yet another cosmic calamity—you know, before the one that they're actually supposed to bring about. While there's no official release date, we know the book is being written by regular Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering novelist Ari Marmell.

In conjunction with the release of the novel, THQ and developer Vigil Games also plan to release a world bible at some point in the near future, although specifics here have yet to be provided.

The sequel to the surprise hit Darksiders takes place around the same timeframe as the first game, this time following the Horseman Death who attempts to prove his brother War's innocence in setting off the apocalypse.

Darksiders II is due out for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC sometime this summer.
