Vigil Talks Death In This 'Darksiders II' Developer Diary

Posted 1/20/12 2:01 pm EST by Charles Webb in News, PC, PS3, thq, Video, Xbox 360

In this "Behind the Mask: Death Rises" video, the team behind the action-adventure sequel talks about bringing another of the four horsemen into their series.

How will Death play in Darksiders II? According to the Vigil team, he'll be feral where War was brawny, calculating in his movements where his fellow horseman used sheer brutality. In this developer diary, members of the team including the game's director/comic artist Joe Madureira, discuss the contrast between the two characters while also shining a light on some of the choice behind this particular character for the game. The video also goes into a little depth about Death's weapon of choice, his scythe.

Darksiders was something of an unexpected hit when it came out, placing you in the big boots of, well, let's say a god of war, but instead of drawaing its inspiration simply from Sony's title, the Vigil team reached back to Zelda for the way that you would explore and adventure throughout the game.

Darksiders II is due for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC sometime later this year.
