Why I don't care that Sony probably tried to dazzle us with a little viral marketing flim flammery.
Yes, I know, we're a little late to the party with this video, and I know further still that it's pretty much been widely debunked online, based on everything from the implausibility of the flight paths to detectable digital artifacts in the liquid nitrogen mist. The video, purported to be the product of the apparently fictional Japan Institute of Science and Technology is alleged to be the result of the work of scientists and fans of one of Sony's longest-running game franchises. The video is even set to a couple of tracks from the recent PSN title, Wipeout HD and lo and behold, it hit the web nearly a month before the release of the PS Vita title, Wipeout 2048.

So yeah, a lot of smoke and mirrors and an obvious ploy to get gamers excited about more Wipeout (and the extremely wistful excited about the idea of real anti-grav racing), and I could care less—as a fake it's a great-looking one.
A question, though: just what is Wipeout Quantum, the glossy title that appears at the end of the video? There's no URL associated with the name (that I can find) nor any listing or announcement for it at this point. Maybe Sony has a little something else up their sleeves with this video.
Wipeout 2048 will be available February 15th for the Playstation Vita.
