The 3DS has had quite a year. From its launch in March, to a price drop in August, to its holiday releases staring Mario an Link, the first (almost) 365 days of this portable's life have been a rollercoaster ride. As Nintendo closes out the first calendar year for the seemingly successful device there is still one outstanding bright spot for system owners hidden in the 3DS' eShop. While the virtual marketplace spent most of the year supplying remakes and the occasional subpar quality game, with 2011 drawing to a close, it has one more surprise left up its sleeve, and possibly the best game on the platform, "Pushmo."

With all the gaming happening on tablets like the iPad these days, it’s no surprise more and more mobile games are supporting the use of actual gamepads. Now, Sony’s recent Android-based Tablet S is jumping in with support for Playstation 3 DualShock controllers. Read more...

The Louvre is the world’s most visited museum and gives patrons the option to use audio-guides while viewing the vast art collection on display. However, only four percent of visitors actually use them, so to keep up with today’s today digital needs the Louvre will replace the lonely audio-guides with 5,000 Nintendo 3DS handhelds. As if it weren't already completely obvious, it looks like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been a pretty huge success. The multi-platform game from Bethesda shipped 10 million copies to retailers and apparently broke records as “the fastest selling title in Steam's history”. Read more...
