Nintendo surprised all of us this morning with their full Q1 release schedule featuring games from popular franchises including Pokemon and Mega Man. The schedule also revealed a March 23rd release date for Masahiro Sakurai's Kid Icarus: Uprising for 3DS and Mario Party 9 is now scheduled to hit store shelves on March 11th.
Capcom's Resident Evil: Revelations will land for 3DS on February 7th, the same day the Circle Pad Pro becomes available at Gamestop locations. Unfortunately, Nintendo still hasn't set a specific release date for Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater, but at least know that it will be here in early 2012. It's been a rough couple of years for the Tony Hawk game brand, with poor reviews and equally poor gamer response to the franchise. Not only was the series constantly in the position of trying to reinvent itself, but it also had to contend with EA's pretty well-received Skate games, which delivered unadulterated skating action. Do you remember the skateboard peripheral? Yeah, that was a thing for a minute.
Anyway, it looks like Activision is trying the old "going back to our roots" approach with this downloadable, HD take on levels from the 1999 classic, Tony Hawk Pro Skater and its follow-up, according to a post on Kotaku. That probably means less guest stars, fewer wacky scenarios, as developer Robomodo (Tony Hawk: Shred, Tony Hawk: Ride) takes another run at series for this 2012 release. Read more...

Skyrim Game Director Todd Howard was at the Spike VGAs over the weekend and while speaking with Joystiq he revealed that the Game of the Year-winning title will be receiving multiple DLC add-on packs in the future. He also commented on the idea of multiplayer in upcoming Bethesda games.
No specifics on the DLC were given, but according to Joystiq Howard said the add-ons would provide “ways to make the game better, not just have more, because the game is so big. So we're going through ideas right now, and processing everything people are doing in the game, and trying to think of ways that we can improve it." Read more...
