Trailer Premiere: Remedy's 'Alan Wake: American Nightmare' (XBLA)

Posted 12/10/11 9:32 pm EST by Charles Webb in Trailer, Video, Xbox 360

What? How?

So I remember there was some talk not too long ago that Remedy's next Alan Wake title would be more modest in scope, possibly even a side scroller. That doesn't quite seem to be the case in this trailer for Alan Wake: American Nightmare which seems to share more in common with Capcom's Dead Rising downloadable titles. If that's the case, then Remedy would be giving fans of the series another bite-sized chunk of its horror writing hero, trapped in the world of his own fiction.

My question though is... well, when is this, exactly, and where? At the end of the first game, Alan wasn't exactly in the position to be getting up to all kinds of new adventures. Maybe I need to burn through the game's "The Signal" DLC which might provide some additional answers on this front. Of all the teasers, this would be the title that's got me most excited.
