Reto-Moto would like to show you a shooter based in WWII.

We've got the exclusive debut trailer for the upcoming World War II FPS Heroes & Generals from Swedish developer Reto-Moto. I can't find a ton of information about the game or the developer (or even announced platforms, for that matter), but Heroes & Generals appears to be in an early stage of development. Based on the scant details on the game's official site, I'm hard-pressed to say that the game is primarily an FPS. This bit is especially intriguing:

Fight to become a war hero or rise through the ranks to command the armies of nations. Your actions can turn the tide of a persistent online war being fought by thousands of players.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

"The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" has already had a troubled past, and it's still six weeks away from launch. From a wi-fi inference riddled E3 debut, to being torn apart on national TV, "Skyward Sword" is already facing an uphill battle. However, when the game drops on November 20, dedicated "Zelda" fans are going to find themselves happily waggling their Wii MotionPlus controllers, steeped in Link's latest adventure for what could be over a hundred hours worth of gameplay, the first of which may not be exactly what they are accustomed to.

Settling in at Nintendo's New York headquarters early one morning last week, I had a chance to spend an hour and half or so (significantly less than my preview time with its predecessor) with the very beginning of "Skyward Sword." Instead of slashing my way through the first dungeon, I spent most of my time running around Skyloft, Link and Zelda's home village, learning the back-story of the game and partaking in an extended tutorial.

Look at that big, lazy jerk. You could meet him in the game!

We've got our first look at screenshots from the upcoming MMO based on Family Guy called (obviously) Family Guy Online. There still aren't a lot of details about what the game is about or what players will be doing in the fully-3D version of Peter Griffith's hometown, but it's currently in closed beta. According to the info page on the site, with the free-to-play game "You can create a character, become a citizen of virtual Quahog, and play and interact with your friends and favorite show characters." According to these screenshots (and what's likely the back of a player character's head), yup, you can definitely create your own character and tool around Quahog interacting with characters from the show.

Munchkin Axe Cop is the game you never knew you wanted. That is to say, you may be a fan of Munchkin or you may be a fan of Axe Cop, but unless you've got a love for both, you won't realize that they make an absolutely perfect pair.

Stop and think about it for a second. Munchkin is a game where players fight a never-ending series of offbeat creatures in their quest to reach level 10. Along the way they'll collect weapons and loot (with pun-laden names), and experience frequent changes to their race and class. This makes for an overall hectic experience filled with two things: violence and corny humor.

This new animated trailer for for Monolith's upcoming class-based FPS, Gotham City Impostors might not get any new converts among the ranks of people scratching their heads at the idea of a comedy-tinged shooter set on the mean streets of Gotham, but as someone already looking forward to this way out of left field title, it's just one more thing keeping my interest piqued.

Here's a little blurb about the game from the developer:

Why fight crime when you can kill it.

Gotham City has gone insane! Batman is up to his pointy ears in unwanted "helpers" determined to dish out their own bloodthirsty brand of vigilante justice in his name (and image). Meanwhile, a small army of self-appointed junior Jokerz has turned the streets of Gotham into a barmy battlefield of bullets, bodies, and bear traps.

Solatorobo: Red The Hunter

By Jason Cipriano

When games take seemingly random elements of other games and blend them all together into one, the results are usually less than stellar. However, XSEED's latest release, the localized version of CyberConnect2's "Solatorobo: Red The Hunter," manages to mix mechs, RPGs, puzzles, action, and anthropomorphic dogs and cats into one game, and somehow pulls it off.

THE BASICS

The story of "Solatorobo" begins with Red, the game's main character, infiltrating a huge airship, looking for a confidential file. All is well until he happens upon a mysterious medallion, and a stowaway passenger, Elh, the first of which causes a giant monster to appear and attack the ship. Red and Elh escape, only to spend the remainder of the game investigating the Shepherd Republic with Red's sister, Chocolat, in toe, looking for the true meaning behind the medallion, and their existence. The remainder of this adventure plays out like an action-based RPG that relies heavily on its story and characters, as it's driving force. In addition to the main story, the game also includes a multiplayer GP mode that basically plays out like "Mario Kart" for the game's airships.
