Just a few days after we learned about new gadgets and a new villain (Deadshot) for "Batman: Arkham City," we're finding out there's a bit of a delay in regards to the game's release. No, that's not a multiplatform delay, as it's only affecting PC players. The good news: the delay is actually rather short; the game will now release in November for PC. There was no exact date in the release, just a generic "November," so that take that however you wish.
There has been no announcement of any delays for the console version of "Batman: Arkham City." The release from Warner Bros. stated that the console versions are still on track for a October 18 launch date.
So, why is the PC version delayed? That's not immediately clear. It could be a number of different issues, like the developers are still working out some bugs, or PC development was slightly behind the console teams, or there's just some reason public relations train of thought that won't make sense to our non-pr brains.
Regardless of the reasons for the delay, it can't be as bad as the wait in releasing this game's predecessor, "Batman: Arkham Asylum" to Mac. That version still hasn't released, but it was recently announced that the game would finally launch on October 13. That's right, five whole days before the sequel.
Rocksteady recently revealed some new gadgets for the game, including Mr. Freeze's Frost Blast – which lets you create frozen platforms on water – and a taser-gun/object mover called the Remote Electrical Charge. The studio have also added assassin Deadshot to the game's rogue gallery.
