Slowing down, taking time to smell the roses and enjoy the little time we have on this planet really is a great way to live your life. Of course, that just makes the wait until October, and subsequently the release of "Battlefield 3," seem even longer. While the fall and winter months are getting super crowded with amazing games, it's hard not to get excited about DICE's military-shooter juggernaut. So, it was worth getting pumped today at the news of a new trailer – except it's only a teaser.
DICE and EA have just released a teaser, for a trailer, of an upcoming game. Wow.
Well, there's some throat stabbing, and some shooting, and – well, that's about it. This little teaser shows off just a little bit of Operation Guillotine, but we're clearly not getting the whole picture. According to a slug near the video's end, "Operation Guillotine continues" on September 16. So, apparently, we'll see more of this portion of the single-player campaign next week. Ok, then.
Regardless of slowly leaking information, this game is looking so boss. The video ends with a grenade being tossed into a tiny room, and the result just looks incredibly realistic. DICE's Frostbite 2 engine looks like it's getting the job done when it comes to the series' beloved environmental destruction.
In related news, EA's Origin service – required if you want to play "Battlefield 3" on PC – has already been installed over 4 million times according to Electronic Arts CFO Eric Brown (via Gamasutra). One has to imagine that the "Battlefield 3" pre-order deals had something to do with that.
