In case you haven't seen our previous coverage, we're kind of big fans of iOS game "Tiny Tower." The game seemingly came out of nowhere this year, and as soon as Russ Frushtick convinced me to start playing, I was hooked. I'm normally a bit apprehensive of free-to-play mobile titles, but "Tiny Tower" is just so inherently addictive, you'll have trouble putting it down once you've jumped on board. NimbleBit have done a great job updating the game with interesting new features so far, and today's update is no exception.

Are you a fan of video games and live in the Los Angeles area? Do you like actual art instead of "Reservoir Dogs" posters stuck up with thumb tacks? Than you really should check out the SUPER iam8bit show going down at 2147 W. Sunset Blvd tonight. Starting at 7PM PST, the show will include over 100 video game artists showing their work in a massive studio space, complete with a live DJ, fancy Kinect hacks and, wait for it, the world's largest arcade cabinet, there to promote the 30th anniversary of "Galaga."

The behind-the-scenes videos on the creation process behind id Software's upcoming "Rage" are still – er, raging on. Today, the team gives us our sixth installment in the series, this time taking a look at the art and sound design of what looks like a promising new property. There's some developer commentary on the designer's thought process, but perhaps more appealing, there's video of none other than John "Walter Sobchak" Goodman recording his lines for the game.

Check out the video right after the jump.

As "Modern Warfare 3" nears launch in November, Activision has no interest in letting the franchise cool down before that. To this end, they're releasing yet another map pack, titled Rezurrection [sic], for "Call of Duty: Black Ops," this time focused on zombie levels. As we learned last week, the pack will include four of the zombie maps from "World at War," as well as one brand-new zombie map, "Moon." For those that purchased the Hardened or Prestige Edition of "Black Ops," they'll get this map pack for free. After all, they already had the code to download the "World at War" zombie maps, so really it's just one new map for them. But it's free, so no point in complaining. For everyone else, the pack will run $15.

If you were planning to do any shopping on the PlayStation Store, keep in mind that the service may be unavailable to you for the majority of today. PlayStation Network is down for scheduled maintenance today, with some services completely unavailable; other services are expected to work normally for the "majority" of PlayStation Network users. The outage is expected to last from 8a.m. until 7p.m. Pacific time.

Ever since the first teaser trailer for "Dead Island" shocked the world with its backwards-zombie-child shenanigans, people have been wondering how the actual game plays. Thanks to a preview build sent over by the game's publisher, Deep Silver, we're able to show you. Yes, here is the first 20 minutes of "Dead Island," captured from one off my play sessions. (Well, more like 16 minutes...we cut out some of the loading screens...but who's counting?)

NOTE: It's really, really, really violent. Like way more violent than "Dead Rising" and "Left 4 Dead" combined. If you have a fondness for the undead, you should probably not watch.

Lonesome Road

The "Fallout: New Vegas" DLC roll-out was bumping along with some highlights here and there but it had been pretty forgettable content until "Old World Blues" came around and showed them how it's done. The sci-fi-inspired DLC pack was supremely well-made, the best of the "Fallout" downloadable content so far, and that includes any of the "Fallout 3" DLC packs. The question remains, can the next pack, "Lonesome Road," keep that high watermark? The answer will have to wait until at least September, as the pack as been delayed.

Remember when PlayStation fanboys used to – ok, many still do – chide the Xbox fanboys because they paid for what they "got for free?" Remember when all the features of PlayStation Network were blissfully subscription free, and it seemed like Sony had a general interest in disregarding the subscription model? Well, that ship has more or less sailed. Since Sony has introduced the PlayStation Plus subscription program, there has been a push by the company to exclude those on the "free side" from some additional features, no matter how trivial.

Now, according to the PlayStation Blog, it looks like automatic syncing of trophies is only going to be available only to PlayStation Plus subscribers. I can't say I'm personally shedding any tears, but this is stupid.

Super Mario 3D Land

In two days, Nintendo will officially lower the price of the Nintendo 3DS to $169.99, down from $249.99 at launch. Satoru Iwata, the President and CEO of Nintendo, recently released a letter, addressed to early adopters of the 3DS, explaining why the company felt it necessary to bring about a price drop so soon after launch. "This unprecedented timing for a price cut is because the situation has changed greatly since we originally launched the 3DS," Iwata wrote. "We decided it was necessary to take this drastic step in order to ensure that large numbers of users will continue to enjoy the 3DS in the future."

There's little doubt that the 3DS launch did not go as planned for Nintendo. Yesterday, just days before the price drop, I spoke with Reggie Fils-Aime, the President and COO of Nintendo of America, about what exactly went wrong and why those lofty post-DS expectations were not met.
