The "Fallout: New Vegas" DLC roll-out was bumping along with some highlights here and there but it had been pretty forgettable content until "Old World Blues" came around and showed them how it's done. The sci-fi-inspired DLC pack was supremely well-made, the best of the "Fallout" downloadable content so far, and that includes any of the "Fallout 3" DLC packs. The question remains, can the next pack, "Lonesome Road," keep that high watermark? The answer will have to wait until at least September, as the pack as been delayed.
In a post on the official Bethesda forums, "New Vegas" Senior Producer, Jason Bergman, revealed the delay:
Hi everyone,
We just wanted to drop in here and let you know that due to circumstances beyond our control, Lonesome Road won't be out this month. This isn't due to any major issue with the code or content, but there are lots of factors involved in releasing these things, and one of those is causing us to slip past our intended release date.
We don't have an exact date yet, but we're working to get it out as quickly as possible. We'll be announcing the final date, along with a couple of other interesting FNV-related items in the near future.
Thanks,
The teams at Bethesda and Obsidian
If anything that sounds like an issue with scheduling more than anything else. To ease the burden of the delay, Bethesda has released the very first screenshot from "Lonesome Road," pictured above. Yes, that's High Rd, located...somewhere. Actually, if you know of a High Rd. located somewhere in the American southwest, let us know, as that may indicate the geographical location of the DLC.
"Lonesome Road" is a big deal in that it's supposed to wrap up the courier story-line that has been building since "Dead Money." Here's hoping the arrival of the second courier is as excellent as they're making it out to be.
