Few major game publishers have embraced iPhone and iPad game development like EA. Since the launch of the iPhone, EA has brought just about every one of its major franchises to iOS platforms, from "SimCity" to "Madden" to "Battlefield." And the games aren't just numerous, they're actually quite good. "Dead Space" on iPhone is a remarkably well-designed and graphically impressive game. The same goes for "NBA Jam." Clearly EA isn't cheaping out with these games, but I've always questioned why they managed to skimp on one feature: Game Center support. Now I know the answer.

Sometimes it's exceedingly difficult to describe a game in just words. This is especially true about games that are visually unique and introduce gameplay elements no one has ever really seen before. "BioShock Infinite" is definitely one of those sorts of games. The demonstration you're about to see was what led me to pick it as my Best of E3 2011, and hopefully you can understand why summarizing the contents of the demo into 750 words or so is a mentally trying experience. Really, words just don't do it justice.

More than three years without a true "Burnout" game? That's a crime! Sure, Criterion brought their car-crashing know-how to "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit," my favorite in the series so far, but it's not the same as "Burnout," where crashing is the primary objective and racing takes a back seat. We still don't know when we'll be getting a full sequel to "Burnout Paradise," but there is a downloadable game in the works: "Burnout Crash."

Sid Meier's foray into the realm of Facebook games, "CivWorld," has officially launched today. OK, it's technically still in beta, according to the opening screen's logo, but it's there for you to check out now all the same. If you're a fan of the "Civilization" series, there's a good chance you've already started playing – or not, if you're a purist who hates the the idea of a Facebook "Civilization" game – but if you've never had an opportunity to play one of Meier's society-crafting strategy games, here's a free chance.

Sort of a good day, bad day situation for Apple this morning. The good news: Apple has announced that the Apple App Store has sold 15 billion apps to over 200 million customers. That's a whole lot of "Angry Birds," and in turn, a whole lot of iOS devices floating around the market. The bad news, for Apple, is that a judge has sided against Jobs and company in regards to their protests against Amazon's use of the name "Appstore."

There's a reason I dislike real-time strategy games. They stress me out. Invariably, as you get deeper into an RTS game, time constraints and quickly-ramping difficulty turn the whole experience into a manic plate spinning act. "From Dust," Ubisoft's downloadable god game, is undoubtedly an RTS (instead of units, you move around chunks of earth, lava and water to defend your citizens), but the campaign is surprisingly slow-paced and encourages thinking through your actions. This is great for me, but I realize some people enjoy more of a fast-paced challenge. "From Dust" offers that too, in the devious, insane Challenge Mode.

Back in the days before Bungie was cranking out "Halo" titles as a subsidiary of Microsoft, they were actually making games for Mac computers. In 1994, the young studio released a sci-fi first-person shooter called "Marathon." The game was a success for the Mac community, who enjoyed the game's technological advancements, like aiming with the mouse – a new thing for the time – and actually spawned itself a bit of a cult following that exists to this day. Starting today, "Marathon" makes a return to the Apple platform, thanks to one indie developer.

Just a week ago, Zenimax Media Inc trademarked a bunch of websites with names like DishonoredGame.com, DishonoredTheGame.com. One might make the assumption that there's a game called "Dishonored" coming somewhat soon. And they'd be right! GameInformer revealed its August cover today, and it's none other than "Dishonored," a stealth-based first-person game from Arkane Studios which will be published by Bethesda Softworks.

It was revealed more than a year ago that there were plans for a "Mass Effect" movie, after Legendary Pictures got the rights to BioWare's sci-fi epic. Of course, there's a big difference between getting the rights and actually making the thing. For all the "Tomb Raiders" and "Mortal Kombats," there have been plenty of "Halos" and "BioShocks" that never made it to the big screen...at least not yet. A "Mass Effect" movie is looking slightly more promising, though, as Legendary has revealed that they're bringing key team members to this year's Comic-Con.

Ah "Torchlight." When Blizzard locked up the "Diablo 3" gates and repeatedly told us, "When it's done," you were there to pick up the pieces. You weren't flashy or wholly original, but what you did do exemplified style, gameplay know-how and an obvious understanding of what makes an excellent action RPG. Seems your popularity has extended far and wide, as you've gone and sold 1 million copies. Congrats, you adorable game, you!
