One of the great things about "Fallout" games – since "Fallout 3," anyways – is that you can always count on Bethesda to keep the downloadable-content coming. The latest game in the series, "Fallout: New Vegas," is no exception, and Bethesda has just announced a release date for the title's third downloadable-content pack. "Old World Blues" will release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on July 19.
Before "Old World Blues" is actually available, however, Bethesda has a title update planned for "New Vegas." The upcoming update – no actual date was listed – will obviously prepare the game for the new downloadable-content, but will also attempt to make the regular game more stable. According to the Bethesda blog, the update will "bring improvements to performance and stability in major areas."
The first "New Vegas" downloadable add-on was "Dead Money," followed by the release of "Honest Hearts" last month. "Old World Blues" is the second of three planned downloads that Bethesda had previously announced, following "Dead Money." According to a prior press release, this adventure places you as an unwitting subject in an experimental laboratory.
"You will discover how some of the Mojave’s mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry," the press release read. "You’ll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat."
The next planned "New Vegas" add-on is "Lonesome Road." That was previously slated for July – "Old Word Blues" was originally supposed to launch in June – so, I'm guessing we may not see that next downloadable pack until August, at least.
