Back around the same time that the first "Grand Theft Auto" game was released, its isometric gameplay just starting to turn heads, Stainless Games released "Carmageddon." The violent (for the time anyways) game garnered some attention, thanks to its open-world, 3D driving and the ability to gain extra racing time by running over hapless pedestrians. The PC game received a few ports – to PlayStation most notably – and two sequels, but we've heard almost nothing about the game for over six years.
That's all changing thanks to a countdown timer going live on the game's official website.

The first time I saw "BioShock Infinite," I was blown away. The team at Irrational Games had re-imagined the franchise from the ground up, setting the game in the early 1900s, in a floating city known as Columbia. And while I was impressed with the presentation (which you can watch in its entirety here), there was a nagging feeling in the back of my head that we weren't looking at an actual game. Sure, it was in-engine and "interactive," but it felt more like a target video rather than a game. The second time I saw "BioShock Infinite" was last Friday. This time, it was absolutely a game.

PopCap Games launched a new publishing arm a few months ago with the goal of creating smaller titles with shorter development cycles (since most of PopCap's games take one to two years to create). That arm was 4th & Battery and their first game was "Unpleasant Horse," which was released for iOS a few weeks ago. While it wasn't nearly as spectacular or well-designed as most PopCap games, it was (and still is) totally free, so it's hard to argue. Seems that 4th & Battery is continuing on the free road, as they've just released a brand new game for iOS: "Candy Train."

This fall, we'll be able to spend an exorbitant amount of hours chasing around dragons in "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim," but Bethesda isn't quite done with "The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion" just yet. According to a report on the awesomely named NitroBeard, Bethesda is planning to release a special fifth anniversary edition of the smash-hit role-playing game next month.

Back in February, I ventured to San Francisco to check out a TellTale Games press event. The studio announced a number of upcoming titles – "The Walking Dead," "King's Quest," etc. – but I spent the most hands-on time with the developer's upcoming "Jurassic Park: The Game." Today, on the TellTale blog, the studio announced that we can count on more information surfacing about the game at E3, and showed off some new concept art.
The first piece of concept art (above), shown on the blog, depicts the "Jurassic Park" island's docks. Want to see more? Lucky for you, we have an exclusive piece of concept art below, right after the jump.

Last August, during GamesCom, Insomniac Games revealed that a new "Ratchet & Clank" title was making its way to your PlayStation 3 in 2011. While it probably wasn't any real surprise that the studio was working on another installment of such a popular franchise, the game did manage to turn some heads thanks to its new cooperative-based gameplay. Today, Sony has announced that "Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One" will release on October 18.
Check out a gameplay video, showcasing the game's Terawatt Forest level, after the jump.

The PlayStation Network went back online Saturday, but certain elements are still missing from the service. Namely, the PlayStation Store – the online marketplace for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable users – has been delayed in relaunching, presumably to ensure data is secure from another breach. While Sony has maintained that it plans to have all network features back online by May 31, a Sony memo to developers claims that the company is looking to place the store back online on May 24.

Back in January, when Sony announced their new PlayStation Portable – currently called Next Generation Portable – details on compatible software titles were slim, but the company did announce that a new "Uncharted" game would find its way onto the system. Today, Eurogamer has reported that the portable adventure will fill in some of the missing story between "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" and "Uncharted: Among Thieves."
