This fall, we'll be able to spend an exorbitant amount of hours chasing around dragons in "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim," but Bethesda isn't quite done with "The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion" just yet. According to a report on the awesomely named NitroBeard, Bethesda is planning to release a special fifth anniversary edition of the smash-hit role-playing game next month.
Spotted at Overstock.com, the "Oblivion" fifth-anniversary package comes bundled with the "Game of the Year" edition, as well as a few other goodies. Bethesda released the Game of the Year edition back in 2007, so there's not anything particularly new on that front. The fifth-anniversary edition also apparently includes some of the items included in the previously released collector's edition, e.g. a map of Cyrodiil, a "making-of" DVD. The DVD does include an added "Skyrim" trailer, however, so I guess that's something.
Sure, there isn't much new there, but if you're someone who didn't manage to check out "Oblivion" in the last five years, it's not a bad deal. Especially when you add in the steelbook packaging and its $29.99 price tag. The package also includes a coupon for 10 bucks off "Skyrim" at any retailer. Add that together, and you're getting an opportunity to own pretty much everything related to one of the best role-playing games in recent memory.
Make sure you grab the fifth-anniversary edition quick, however. Rumor is that Bethesda is only releasing 200,000 copies.
The "Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion" fifth-anniversary edition will be available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
