Heading out to grab a copy of "L.A. Noire" tonight? There's all kinds of different incentives for those of you who pre-ordered, and even a decent amount of goodies for the insane amongst you who feel like sitting outside your local game retail establishment until midnight tonight. If you're among the early arrivals at Best Buy, though, you just might snag a free code for the game's first downloadable-content.
According to a scan of a store ad (sent to Joystiq), the first sixteen people who purchase "L.A. Noire" at Best Buy tonight will get the "Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case" downloadable-content free. There's no current information on what this particular case is about, but I'm going to go way out on a limb here and guess it's about a fire at an electroplating plant. Pretty good, huh? Cole Phelps doesn't have anything on me and my incredible powers of deduction.
So what else is out there tonight? Well, if you pre-ordered through GameStop, you'll receive access to "The Naked City," an exclusive case (which sounds a little more exciting than electroplating, but what do I know). Likewise, a pre-order from Wal-Mart will grant you the exclusive "Slip of the Tongue" detective case. They may prove me wrong, but I fully assume all of these cases will be available as paid downloadable-content.
The extra content is great, Amazon's $15 credit is a little better, but Kmart may actually win the award for best "L.A. Noire" deal. Until May 21, if you purchase the game from Rainman's favorite shop, you'll not only receive a 20-dollar gaming coupon, but you'll also receive a credit for a free game under $19.99. Yes, that's basically 40 bucks in credit for purchasing a $60 game. Not too shabby.
Are any of you heading out to a midnight launch? Think midnight launches are only for crazy people? Tell us about it in the comments, right after you check out our "L.A. Noire" review.
