deus ex human revolution

Back in March, Square-Enix confirmed the August 23 release date for "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" along with an expanded Augmented Reality edition of the game which packs in a couple of bonus materials and a ton of extra content to be used in the game. Now there's word of an even more top shelf Collector's Edition, but you unfortunately won't be able to get it here in the United States.

call of duty black ops

Activision really hates fans of the Zombies mode in Treyarch's ever-popular first-person shooter, "Call of Duty: Black Ops." Why? Because the last time a map pack was released, the First Strike collection, the debut trailer offered up details on the expansion's four multiplayer maps and nothing on the new zombie map. The same happens again with a newly released trailer for the Escalation map pack, out May 3. Other than a fleeting glimpse of a snowy nighttime landscape and a lighthouse, the upcoming Escalation pack's "Call of the Dead" is left completely out of the spotlight.

law and order los angeles

After a close call in which NBC Universal put the series on hold indefinitely, Dick Wolf's latest police/courtroom procedural, "Law & Order: LA," is officially on the air as of last week. That series will never die. Especially not if it keeps popping up in other media. Like an episodic series of adventure games, which is officially happening and in the capable hands of Telltale Games, the same studio that reintroduced "Back to the Future" to a new generation of gamers.

the legend of zelda ocarina of time 3d

Last week, Nintendo finally revealed the June 19 release date for "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D." We already knew at the time that the game would include the more difficult Master Quest version of the story with its remixed dungeons, but later reports that the game would contain additional content beyond that weren't mentioned in the announcement. There's an update today revealing just what Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata was talking about when he hinted at the game being "crammed with content" back in March.

Portal 2

One weapon. How could a game possibly be good with just one weapon? Certainly it would get old in no time flat? That's what some wondered about the original "Portal." But that game lasted less than three hours? Could having just a single weapon sustain an entire, $60 game with over 10 hours of gameplay? As it turns out, yes. Just ask "Portal 2," one of the best games I've played in years.

infamous 2

Last week you got to check out a video from "inFamous 2" showing off what is possible in the game's built-in mission creator. User-generated content is a big part of the "inFamous 2" experience, as the New Marais landscape is populated with (filterable) side missions pulled from what will undoubtedly be a very deep well. Today brings a new video showing off the other side of the game's UGC, how you get everything created, presented by Sucker Punch's Karl Deckard.

inversion

Back in February, Namco Bandai confirmed the planned February 7, 2012 release of "Inversion," the gravity-based third-person shooter that Saber Interactive is currently working on. The news arrived alongside a trailer, which showed little more than some cool environments filled with floaty destruction. Another trailer arrives today showing off more destruction... only this time there's also a little gunplay and scene-setting for the game's story to go along with it.

rage

"RAGE" is looking seriously sweet. Bethesda Softworks invited a bunch of journalists out to see its upcoming slate of games last week, and as the embargoes start to lift this week we're seeing all sorts of new promotional content to go along with the previews. Such as the new trailer, embedded after the jump, featuring five minutes of gameplay pulled from a mission to... Dead City. (cue evil Vincent Price laugh)

alice madness returns

It's amazing to think that "American McGee's Alice" came out more than a decade ago. Its particular blend of third-person action has only grown in popularity since then; just imagine what the game would look like now! On consoles! You don't have to of course, since "Alice: Madness Returns" is coming in June. In an awesome -- and completely expected -- twist though, console gamers will get their crack at the original thanks to a port and a download code that will reportedly come with the game.
