Rockstar Games' Social Club, a social integration system that's been showing up in Rockstar's line-up since "Grand Theft Auto IV," is making a return in the upcoming "L.A. Noire." It's not much of a surprise that the online stat program is being included in the game – it's become a bit of an expected staple among Rockstar titles – but there's at least a couple of new ideas in the associated feature list the developer announced today.

Here's the good news: "Cave Story 3D" is still coming out for the 3DS. The bad news? It's coming out two months later than was previously thought. NIS America announced today that instead of the originally planned June 19 release date, we'll have to wait until August 9th. Is it just me or has this week been nothing but a steady stream of delays?

Portal 2

Just an hour ago, I was talking about how we're looking forward to the prospect of "Portal 2" DLC details, which were supposed to drop any day now, and it seems Valve has heard my request. A press release was just sent out, detailing what the developer is calling DLC #1 for the game. The pack "will offer new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more." And that's not even the beauty part! The first DLC for "Portal 2" will be absolutely free for owners of the game.

Portal 2

You may think that there's only one way to solve most of the puzzles in "Portal 2," or that you've absolutely found the fastest way to get through one of the test chambers. YouTube user SchrobotInDisguise is here to shame you into oblivion. Using a standard Xbox 360 controller, this "Portal" fan recorded multiple feats of fancy, some of which involved breaking test chambers, which the game actually rewards you for doing!

Marvel and Gazillion Games, working together on the massively-multiplayer "Marvel Universe," finally let out a few details about the game last night. While those details are still a bit slim, one item that did catch my eye was the group's announcement of the lead writer. Brian Michael Bendis, the brain behind "Secret Invasion," "House of M," and "Powers" to name a few, will head up writing duties on the title.

Over the past ten days, most PlayStation gamers have dealt with some unknowns: Is your credit card data for sale on the black market? When is PlayStation Network coming back online? Why are you suddenly getting emails referring to you as some dude from Nigeria? Well, if you've spent any number of years collecting PlayStation trophies – especially those hard-to-reach platinum trophies – Sony may actually have a small consolation for you. When the PlayStation Network kicks back on, eventually, you'll still have all those wonderful trophies you collected; I said a small consolation.

Need For Speed: The Run

Yesterday we posted about how a UK retailer sorta jumped the gun on the next "Need for Speed" game. Today, EA is opening up about the next installment in the long-running racing series, releasing official details about "Need for Speed: The Run," which is scheduled to release this November.

UK retailer ShopTo appears to have leaked a new "Need For Speed" title via Twitter. Well, maybe they just mentioned it a bit too early, but they've since put a trailer for the outed title on their site. Either way, what little is shown of "Need For Speed: The Run" in the trailer looks great. Obviously, I'm taking some liberties in describing the action, but I'll do my best to simply pass on what trailer appears to convey, as I'm assuming EA will have the page taken down fairly quickly. Feel free to check out the trailer yourself at the retailer's site here (if the link actually stays up).

The video starts with a close-up of a man, presumably a protagonist who is later referred to as "Jack", dazed and upside down in his vehicle. He's flashing back to a series of car chases, the police in pursuit, and an attractive brown-haired girl. The chase scenes are interspersed with the names of various American cities: Denver, New York, etc. As an off-screen woman (maybe the girl from the flashback) yells Jack's name, he suddenly snaps out of it. Unfortunately, his vehicle is upside down on a railroad track with a locomotive bearing down on him.

The trailer ends showing the above title, and the phrase, "The Race for Your Life," and a release date of November 18th, 2011.

At first glance, it looks like this "Need For Speed" game is all about a chase cross-country. Given the inclusion of Jack and the brown-haired girl, it's a safe bet there's actually a storyline running beneath the series' standard race fare.

We'll be sure to contact EA, looking for any information on the title.

Conduit 2

Trying to establish a successful franchise that's exclusive to the Wii is difficult for anyone that isn't Nintendo - many have tried, few have succeeded. Part of the pack that just wont give up is one-time rival, Sega who have launched a sequel to 2009's sci-fi, first-person shooter, "The Conduit." The aptly named "Conduit 2" picks up where the first left off, improving on High Voltage Software's biggest Wii title, ushering in the second chapter of Michael Ford's epic story.
