frog minutes

Grasshopper Manufacture is one of the most imaginative game developers working today, thanks largely to the vision of its top boss Goichi "Suda51" Suda. While fans eagerly await the June-releasing "Shadows of the Damned," Suda's collaboration with "Resident Evil" creator Shinji Mikami, they'll be able to tide themselves over with a newly announced iOS game from Grasshopper, called "Frog Minutes."

fight night champion

"Fight Night Champion" hit like a lights-dimming haymaker earlier this month, releasing on March 1 to rave reviews from fans and critics alike. The series typically outstanding visuals were praised, along with the abundance of content and the story-driven Champion Mode. After almost an entire month of roaming free in the world however, players are likely starting to feel antsy for more. Good news, then. Electronic Arts has you covered with some new downloadable content that is coming to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network next week, detailed after the jump.

mortal kombat

This is the week for "Mortal Kombat" apparently, and not a little inexplicably. The game's out soon of course, but not until April 19, so why the crush of content now? Not that I'm complaining. Yesterday's Kratos trailer was all sorts of sweet. Today's latest look doesn't have the same cross-franchise appeal, focusing instead on the game's tag team battles.

back to the future: the game

If you haven't tried Telltale Games' episodic "Back to the Future: The Game" yet then you're really missing out. Not only does it pick up where the last movie left off, technically making it a sequel, but it also manages to really capture the spirit of the series. It is Telltale, after all. The game's third episode, "Citizen Brown," arrives next week on March 29 and it features a surprise appearance from one of the original cast members.

rise of nightmares

Did you know Sega was working on a Kinect-powered horror game called "Rise of Nightmares"? It's okay if not. The game was announced at the Tokyo Game Show last year and set for a spring 2011 release, but nothing has been said about it since. Bless the ESRB then, bringer of the truth that the organization is, for finally outing something about this next motion-based horror game from the publisher that brought you "House of the Dead: Overkill."

Nintendo 3DS

After more than six years, Nintendo will finally release a truly new handheld device this weekend: the Nintendo 3DS. At $250, it's not exactly cheap, so the decision of whether to pick one up should be made with care. I've been messing around with the US version of the device for about two weeks now, so I hope my experience will help to direct you one way or the other. I'll start with the basics first before delving into the nitty gritty.

WHAT IS IT?

The Nintendo 3DS is a new gaming handheld device from Nintendo. Unlike the many redesigns to the Nintendo DS, the 3DS is a brand new device with its own set of games and features. Most notable of these features is its ability to present 3D graphics to the player without them needing to wear glasses.

river city ransom

Last week brought the insanely uber-fantastic news that there is an actual sequel coming for the NES classic, "River City Ransom." In a new update, we now know what the mysterious console will be: Nintendo's Wii.

team fortress 2

The tsunami in Japan is one of the worst natural disasters that most of us have seen in our lifetimes. As is often the case with a highly publicized tragedy such as this, there is a silver lining to be found in the mass outpouring of sympathy and support that have followed in the wake of the disaster. We saw it in evidence last week with an "EVE Online" donations campaign and we're seeing it again today with another charity-raising move from the fine folks at Valve Corporation.
