If you haven't tried Telltale Games' episodic "Back to the Future: The Game" yet then you're really missing out. Not only does it pick up where the last movie left off, technically making it a sequel, but it also manages to really capture the spirit of the series. It is Telltale, after all. The game's third episode, "Citizen Brown," arrives next week on March 29 and it features a surprise appearance from one of the original cast members.
The latest trailer for the game reveals that Claudia Wells will be reprising her role as Marty McFly's girlfriend Jennifer Parker. Wells was replaced by Elizabeth Shue in the second and third movies, but she was and is the original Jennifer. The new trailer, which you can check out on Telltale's website, takes a look at how Wells came to be involved. There isn't much gameplay, but there's an amusing story involving Marty McFly voice actor A.J. LoCascio's chance encounter with her.
I hesitate to say much about how Jennifer features into episode three since I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't played the earlier episodes yet. I'll even go as far as cautioning those who aren't caught up against watching the trailer, since earlier plot points are spoiled. Suffice to say... this isn't the Jennifer you remember.
Next week's release makes three of five total planned episodes for "Back to the Future: The Game." It's probably too much to hope for another series to immediately follow it, but fortunately we'll be seeing plenty more from Telltale in the coming months with "Jurassic Park" and "The Walking Dead" both set to arrive later this year.
