DC Comics fans are all excited to see Ryan Reynolds strut his stuff this summer as Hal Jordan, also known as the intergalactic police officer Green Lantern, in Martin Campbell's adaptation of the superhero series which hits theaters on June 17. Now Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has announced the inevitable tie-in game, "Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters," which should be hitting shelves at roughly the same time as the film. You can get yourself hyped up with the game's debut trailer after the jump.

If you read my "Dead Space 2" review, you'd know that I really liked the game. Fantastic gameplay, great graphics, solid multiplayer. One element, though, felt like it lagged behind the overall package, and that was the way the story was delivered. Frankly, when it came down towards the end of the game, I really didn't have a clear idea of why I was doing the things I was doing. Maybe I'm an idiot and just missed the clues, or maybe it takes more than a passing knowledge of the "Dead Space" franchise to follow exactly what's going on here.
Few people have better insight into the events of "Dead Space 2" than Wright Bagwell, the game's Creative Director. I recently spoke to him to try to fill in some of the blanks.
NOTE: Heavy spoilers to follow. If you haven't finished "Dead Space 2," you may want to stop reading now.

Capcom's "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds" hit stores this week and it's apparently pretty darn awesome. There are fewer characters that the last game and newly streamlined controls, but they change works to the game's benefit, broadening the appeal to a wider range of players. Of course, it can't be a new software release until the tech-minded folk of the world step up to rip apart the code and see what secrets it hides. In the case of "MvC3" it amounts to two characters: "Dead Rising" hero Frank West and "Spider-Man" villain Doctor Octopus.

All of us Blizzard fans are hoping and wishing as hard as we can that the developer/publisher delivers the long-awaited loot-a-thon RPG "Diablo 3" before the end of this year. For those who are asking what the freaking hold-up is, maybe "a change in the game's artistic direction" will appease you? Newly-surfaced screenshots reveal a far different look in a much earlier version of the game.

Earlier this week some leaked images floated out purporting to be pulled from the upcoming, then-unannounced "Halo: Reach" map pack, Defiant. Now there's been an official announcement and Microsoft's Major Nelson has confirmed it: three new multiplayer maps are coming to "Halo: Reach" next month in a pack that is indeed called "Defiant."

Felicia Day, the always-lovely creator/writer/star of web series "The Guild," is a safe bet for ensuring gamers pay attention to whatever it is you happen to be peddling. In this case, BioWare is doing the peddling, which I know you like. Day is set to star in a "Dragon Age" web series, one that she also wrote.

Driving around at high speed on a tropical island is one of the many perfect escapist activities that video game offer, and not many did it better than Atari's "Test Drive Unlimited." It was the first racing game to introduce the idea of a massively multiplayer online racing, allowing players to exist and interact in a world with other racers, all playing at the same time. "Test Drive Unlimited 2" continues this tradition, while layering on just about every possible gameplay element ever seen in a racing game.

Third-person action game "American McGee's Alice" offered a grim take on the classic Lewis Carroll story, unfolding in an alternate universe to justify the changes. The PC-exclusive Electronic Arts-published release was very successful, which is why gamers were so delighted in 2009 when a sequel was announced. Now we've got our first details on the game from McGee himself, as well as a new trailer that must be watched.

Two weeks ago, Ravenous Games released the excellent "League of Evil" on the iPhone. It was a big hit with fans of platformers (myself included). But the game's success was slightly marred by an iPhone pirate who stole the main character sprite from "LoE" and used it, audaciously enough, in a game called "The Blocks Cometh." A game that the pirate didn't actually develop. Basically the pirate stole character art from one game and all of the gameplay from another and stuck it up on the app store. Thankfully Apple wised up and removed the illicit version of "The Blocks Cometh." But that wasn't to be the end of the curious union between the two indie developers.

Where are all of you "video games aren't art!" jerks now?! The Smithsonian American Art Museum will soon be playing host to a new exhibit on our favorite interactive activity, called "The Art of Video Games." In what is perhaps at least in part an acknowledgment of the fact that the current Smithsonian staff maybe aren't the best equipped to answer the question of what to put on display, the museum is asking fans to cast their votes and let their voices be heard.
