Portal 2

Last night, I was pleasantly surprised to see a new level of "Portal 2" on display at an EA press event in New York City. The level, as it turned out, was the very beginning of the game...something I hadn't been privy to before. You shouldn't be surprised to learn that it was tremendously entertaining and hilarious.

left 4 dead 2 dlc

"Left 4 Dead 2" may have featured four brand-new characters and all new environments, but fans still have a fondness for the original campaign chapters. "No Mercy" was already released as part of the last DLC pack, "The Sacrifice," and now the remaining three will be coming in the next pack. Also in the pack is a brand new campaign called "Cold Stream," which was actually created by the "Left 4 Dead" fan community.

world of warcraft

Yesterday, iDevice overlord Apple announced the introduction of in-app subscriber fees as an option for mobile software developers. To put it in simple terms, if there were a way to port "World of Warcraft" into a stable iPhone/iPad client -- and there actually is -- this new business model would allow Activision Blizzard to charge subscribers directly inside the app. You're probably thinking, "So what? You can just subscribe on your computer and load up the iClient, right?" The answer to that is... sort of.

Dead Island

"Dead Island" is a zombie game that's been in development for ages. At least five years at this point. Techland, the folks behind "Call of Juarez," are helming the project, which is supposed to be an homage to classic zombie movies. The whole game is set on an island which is quickly overrun by the undead, leaving a few poor souls to fend for survival. Oh, and it has RPG elements, in case the previous similarities to "Dead Rising" weren't enough. It is, however, an FPS.

I can't say there's been a huge amount of demand for info on "Dead Island," but that changed today with the launch of a new CGI trailer.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Possibly the greatest thing about Capcom's Vs. series of games has always been the crossover aspect – seeing your favorite characters from one universe interacting with your favorite characters from another is a fanboy's dream come true. As the third game in the "Marvel Vs. Capcom" series, "MvC3" follows in this great tradition smashing Marvel and Capcom worlds together once again. However, in the game itself, there are only 36 characters to choose from, leaving hundreds of other characters, from both universes, out in the cold. Fear not, Marvel and Capcom were able to come up with a solution: cameos.

We've seen cameos before, but "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3" seems to take them to a new level of fan service. A variety of unexpected characters are actually in "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3," they just aren't playable characters. The endings for many of the fighters in the game not only wrap up what happens after Galactus is defeated, but they also play into the idea that the two worlds have collided. Check out a full list of cameos in "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3" to see just how crazy things get.
