Yesterday you heard all about the cool online co-op features in "SOCOM 4" which offers players the opportunity to build a custom campaign for up to five players. Sony isn't done revealing new info for the April 19 release, however. Today brings word of a Move-equipped Full Deployment Edition bundle for the game as well as one of the solo campaign's playable characters, a female covert intelligence operative called simply "45."
The Full Deployment Edition is basically meant to outfit PlayStation 3 owners with a full motion control setup for the gaming console and a game to go along with it, as a post on PlayStation Blog reveals. In addition to "SOCOM 4," the pack also includes a Move motion controller, a Move navigation controller, a Sharp Shooter gun mount and a PlayStation Eye camera. All for the not-low-but-still-a-bargain price of $149.99.
Also revealed is 45, a female South Korean 707th covert operations expert. She is the team's primary recon agent, and players will take control of her several times throughout the solo campaign. 45's missions are stealth-focused; they are set at night, her weapons loadout comes in silenced flavors and an on screen stealth meter helps ensure that enemies don't pick up her trail.
The blog post also reiterates that all pre-orders of the game include a pair of slug-powered shotguns, one each for the Spec Ops and Insurgent teams. GameStop pre-orders also get the exclusive Suppression map "Abandoned," which is modeled after a similarly named map from the first two "SOCOM" games. We'll have to wait and see whether or not it's worth spending on all of this stuff, but with Zipper Interactive back at the helm things are certainly looking good.
