"Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds" is out on February 15, aka "very, very soon." Given that fact, you'd think we've heard everything we're going to hear about the game prior to its release. Well... you'd be wrong. Capcom is still unveiling new information, such as today's reveal of two more characters from the 36-strong cast (38 if you count the two announced DLC fighters) of playable fighters: a Sentinel robot from the X-Men universe and "Darkstalkers" character Hsien-Ko, a magically-created Chinese zombie/vampire.
The reveal of Hsien-Ko and the Sentinel rounds out the full group of names for "MvC3." Barring any secret/hidden characters of course. There's a definite theme to today's announcement: both Hsien-Ko and the Sentinel are very good at making a pink-and-purple outfit combination look badass.
Sentinels are giant, mutant-hunting robots from Marvel's X-Men universe. They are typical three-story tall, flying behmoths capable of shooting laser beams out of their palms and eyes. I expect the flight capabilities and lasers will be kept, but the Sentinels in "MvC3" have been cut down to a more manageable size.
You actually get two for the price of one with Hsien-Ko. She and her sister Mei-Ling did bad when they tried using magic to bring their dead mother back to life. As fiction has long since taught us, trying to subvert the laws of nature of ends well. It sure didn't for the twin sisters; Hsien-Ko was transformed into a purple-skinned vampire and Mei-Ling into the ward-paper on her sister's hat, which is the source of their shared power.
The Sentinel and Hsien-Ko each have a trailer, which you can check out here and here, respectively.
