It's that time of year again. You've got tons of time off, but because you're such a diligent, obsessive gamer, you managed to play through all the new holiday season games over the last few weeks and now you're stuck with nothing. Actually, that's not quite true, this year. As DLC becomes a bigger part of the game release schedule, companies are doing a better job planning ahead, releasing more content before the game starts getting stale. Case in point, two pretty high profile DLC packs which launched today: "Dead Money" for "Fallout: New Vegas" and the Vietnam expansion for "Battlefield: Bad Company 2."

If Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" left you wanting more from her in "Dance Central," this is your lucky day because she's also made "Disturbia" available for the Kinect title this week, along with tracks from Blur and Janet Jackson. She joins previous DLC contributors Ne-Yo and Lady Gaga in the "DC" marketplace, where Sean Paul and The Black Eyed Peas have also put themselves up for sale.

HD remakes are in vogue with publishers right now. The Oddworld franchise has jumped on the bandwagon, and Ubisoft's already got their "Prince of Persia Trilogy." The latter wants to dig back into their Splinter Cell archives as well now; just don't expect to see "Splinter Cell: Conviction" included (I know, heart-breaker, right?).

The initial push for the Playstation Move offered a fairly varied assortment of games, but none of them built on any of Sony's already-existing franchises. That all comes to an end with the release of "Echochrome 2," the sequel to monochrome, 3D puzzle game that was released on the Playstation Network and for the PSP in 2008. Instead of just releasing another game with more levels, "Echochrome 2" steps away from the gameplay of the original and shines some light on a creative use of the Move controller.

Mario may be the Bo Jackson Jackson of video game sports, but games like "Mario Tennis," "Mario Hoops 3-On-3" and "Mario Golf" only let him shine at one game at a time. Nintendo's putting him through a quadrathalon of basketball, dodgeball, hockey and volleyball for "Mario Sports Mix" in February, though, and the release date for the multi-event ball-fest has been set for February 7.

Developer Pop Quiz is a weekly interview series in which we ask developers from around the industry the same 10 questions and post their responses.
Just because you don't play "Bejeweled" doesn't mean that there aren't millions of people out there that do. Discounting "casual" games as shovelware is a thing of the past, and for years now PopCap Games have been leading the charge making some of the most simple and addictive games to be released each year. This week's Developer Pop Quiz shines the lights on one of men behind PopCap's latest release, "Bejeweled 3." Michael Guillory, the game's Associate Producer, grew up with Gary Gygax as his hero, and worked for one of the most respected companies in the industry, Sierra, until it closed its' doors.

Nintendo must have realized that North America was starting to feel left out after they announced a big European media event for January 19, as their 2011 calendar filled out a bit more today to include another press conference in New York City on the same day. The Amsterdam announcement was a bit cryptic, and this one sounds like it was too, but the company was kind enough to spell out that they will have demo-ready 3DS units on hand along with Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime.

Way back when, "inFamous" first showed up on the PlayStation 3 with a hero named Cole who looked like a light-haired emo biker, but he got a slightly more Backstreet-Boyish makeover when "inFamous 2" was announced. Sucker Punch later reverted to their earlier designs, however, and that's the look Cole is going to bring with him to the new "inFamous" comics from the Superman and Batman makers at DC.

Just in case "Infinity Blade" wasn't good enough for you already on the iPhone and iPad, Chair Entertainment and Epic Games have expressed a new pack of updates that should arrive by tomorrow, December 21. In addition to introducing an extremely metal Santa Claus helmet, the free content will also open up in-game gold purchases for everyone too lazy to look around and work for their ability-augmenting currency.

The feel-good games story of the 2010 holiday season feels a little better today as the Humble Indie Bundle 2 is currently sitting on top of more than $1.18 million in sales and the folks at Wolfire Games have bolstered their download options with Steam and Desura support. Not all of the titles are currently equipped with Steam achievements, but most of them are, so if lack of integration with Valve's service has been a deal-breaker for you up until this point, your last-minute Christmas miracle has appeared to give you a green light to help out the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child's Play.
