Super Meat Boy Wii

Team Meat knew as early as 2 months ago that the fate of "Super Meat Boy" as WiiWare might be in peril. Sadly, its demise has now been confirmed, though a Wii retail release might still have a small chance at seeing the light of day. As a Multiplayer favorite for 2010 and one of the more challenging new 2D platformers in recent memory, the news saddens us, but all hope may not be lost.

Galactus Marvel vs Capcom 3

A self-proclaimed leaker on Twitter predicted that Galactus would show up as the final boss in "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" earlier this month, although a list of achievements that surfaced for the game last week didn't show any signs of the big purple devourer of worlds. Now, however, some artwork that appears to be from the comic book included with the Collector's Edition has shown up, and both Galactus and Taskmaster display their faces.

Pokemon Black and White release date

Nintendo may be ratcheting up their hype machine to finally break out a North American release date for the 3DS, but they've still got at least one big title to drop in 2011 for the soon-to-be-charmingly-retro DS. "Pokémon Black" and "White." Japanese players have had the games since September, but Nintendo has now confirmed that the U.S. will have both editions and the 150-plus new Pokémon types that come with them on March 6, 2011.

Kinect rumor

So Kinect's body-movement tracking isn't perfect. But what really is perfect other than "Super Mario Bros. 3" and pulling off a 149-hit combo in "Street Fighter 4"? Anyway, an anonymously-sourced report at Eurogamer recently predicted that MS would release an update soon that would drastically improve the device's detection capabilities. Sadly for everyone expecting to power up their Kinect in the near future, that's just not the case.

iPad 2

Though Apple hasn't announced anything for sure yet, rumors earlier this month proposed that the 2nd-generation iPad would be in production by February. In the meantime, bloggers and journalists have been scraping away behind the scenes to dig up details from components manufactures to find out what's going to be inside and how the new tablet will look. An anonymous source in China, for instance, has now claimed that Apple's device will get thinner and integrate improved speakers.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 achievements

Thus far, most of the advance info on "Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds" has been coming a combination of planned-out announcements and mysterious less official sources, but today we got a big stack of details from a source somewhere in between as all 47 achievements for the game have gone public. The list contains a depressing lack of specific character mentions, but it does boast references to the game's Mission mode and the exceptionally well-named "Charles in Charge" achievement.

Uncharted 2

"Uncharted 3" and David O. Russell's film are the big headline-grabbing projects for Sony and Naughty Dog's franchise right now, but they don't want everyone to forget that their most recently released critically-acclaimed sequel is still out on the market for the PlayStation 3. Thusly, they've announced an end of the year holiday bonus for multiplayer users in the form of extra in-game cash.

Harmonix

Back in November, Viacom (which owns MTV and, predictably, MTV Multiplayer) announced that it it would be looking to sell Harmonix. The Boston-based game developer was first acquired by Viacom in September 2006 and went on to release nine titles as a part of MTV Games. That relationship ended today as Viacom announced that Harmonix had been purchased by Columbus Nova, an investment firm which manages "over $10.0 billion of assets through its own funds and affiliated portfolio companies."

Angry Birds

Recently the original "Angry Birds" hasn't been getting a ton of love, with the latest updates focused on "Angry Birds Seasons." That changed today with the launch of "Angry Birds" version 1.5 on the iPhone and iPad. The update adds new, Western-themed levels (perfectly-timed for "True Grit"!) and the long-awaited Mighty Eagle.

Chrono Trigger mobile

I don't see the "Chrono Trigger" lovers at Obsidian listed as being involved anywhere, but the classic Square Soft title has a new teaser page set up on Square Enix's website, and it may have something to do with a mobile release in 2011.
