'Uncharted 2' Quadrupling Multiplayer Cash Until January 3

Posted 12/23/10 1:58 pm EST by Brian Warmoth in News, PS3

Uncharted 2

"Uncharted 3" and David O. Russell's film are the big headline-grabbing projects for Sony and Naughty Dog's franchise right now, but they don't want everyone to forget that their most recently released critically-acclaimed sequel is still out on the market for the PlayStation 3. Thusly, they've announced an end of the year holiday bonus for multiplayer users in the form of extra in-game cash.

Naughty Dog's "The Lab" will be putting a sort of greatest hits list of multiplayer modes from 2010 into rotation through the morning of January 3, and while it's cycling 4x muliplayer cash will be in effect, according to an update on the studio's official blog.

Here's what "The Lab" will be making available:

"Best of…" Gametype Variations:
• Shotguns Only
• Plunder Pistols Only
• No Power Weapons
• Desert-5 Shootout
• Deathmatch – No Boosters

And the maps in use will include:
• The Lost City
• The Plaza
• The Sanctuary
• The Temple

Officially, all of this will be in effect from Wednesday, December 22, at 10:00 AM PST through Monday, January 3, 2011, at 10:00 AM PST, so really, if you're an early-morning gamer, you'll be able to rake in the extra dough two have days into the new year. That's not a bad proposition. Just be prepared to duke it out in the most hardcore of hardcore modes to earn it.

What do you think of Naughy Dog's "Best Of..." list of modes? Are you going to try and cash in on their multiplayer bonus offering for the next 12 days? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
