'Uncharted 3' Gameplay Debuts On Jimmy Fallon

Posted 12/14/10 11:32 am EST by Brian Warmoth in News, PS3

Uncharted 3

The world got a look at some desert landscapes and quick in-game clips from "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception" over the weekend, but only Jimmy Fallon got the privilege of actually picking up a controller. The Naughty Dog crew brought a burning château level onto his show, and though Fallon didn't seem to be very nimble with the controls despite his familiarity with "Uncharted 2," he did give it a go and fall through a collapsing wooden floor while cracking the kind of jokes you will only hear on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

Naughty Dog co-presidents Evan Wells Christophe Balestra guided him through the brief adventure, as Drake and Sully ran around navigating a residential inferno.

The fire effects and gameplay look really crisp, and Fallon's segment gave a much better feel for the title than the teaser from the VGA's Saturday. They didn't say much about what's doing on with Sully, which sounds like it'll be one of the big plot points to watch in this sequel, but ND did prove that they know how to build the heck out of an incinerating mansion level.

Watch and prepare to weep with joy over the game that Fallon's wife mistook for a film (well, according to him anyway), though get set for a long year because "Uncharted 3" won't be out on shelves until November 1, 2011.

Are you pumped for "Uncharted 3" to be out next November? Do you thin Naughty Dog has upped their game since "Uncharted 2"? Share your reactions with us in the comment section below.
