Yun and Yang appear to be getting some more company the "Super Street Fighter 4" arcade machine, if not the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of the game as well. Evil Ryu, as well as a powered-up version of Akuma — now popularly referred to as "Oni Akuma" — showed up in some purportedly leaked 360 achievement updates at the end of November, and a new, very official trailer now features them both on-screen.
There's a ton of Japanese to wade through in the video posted at EventHubs.com, but the image at the end seems to be self-explanatory. If those achievements that have been floating around are legit, the signs seem to point toward some big extras arriving with the upcoming arcade-inspired DLC for consoles.
Titles and new rankings may also be part of the payload, from the looks of the various sequences. If this One Akuma guy is playable, just how or if he'll be differentiated from Shin Akuma is still a total mystery. But hey, these are nice mysteries to have, knowing that the New Challenger ranks are about to swell will additional faces. I'd much rather be asking if and how questions than staring down the disc on my shelf wondering if I was going to have to shell out another full game's worth of bills to enjoy any new characters. Capcom's made some fine SF decisions this year.
