Abysmal
"Tony Hawk: Shred" may have a long way to go before it can be considered a successful title, but Activision believes the game could be poised to make a comeback soon. The skateboarding romp only sold around 3,000 copies during its first week on the market in October, according to a report on GamesIndustry.biz, but the official line from its publisher is that the best may be yet to come.

Earlier this week, we took a look at some good game picks to watch out for this holiday season. Unfortunately, gamers are notorious for being on top of game releases and there's a chance you could be giving them a game they've already finished. We're a dedicated bunch, we are.

Valve's latest "Portal 2" delay looks like a big bump if you consider that the sequel was at one point expected to come out in 2010. If you compare the newly announced April launch date with its previous target launch of February 9, 2011, however, the latest delay of two months doesn't seem quite so severe — at least that's the way Valve would like for you to see the situation.

While I understand the reason for Prestige in "Call of Duty," I'm not one to take it. Honestly I'd much rather be at my full potential, gear-wise, than have to restart from level 1 in order to get a new icon next to my name. The folks at Machinima.com apparently disagree with me, as they're attempting to get to full prestige before anyone else. To do this, they've been playing the game, non-stop, since launch. 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and live-streaming their progress.

You were mistaken if you thought that Kanye West was done putting new tracks on sale as DLC for "Def Jam Rapstar." "Jesus Walks" arrived this week for the Xbox 360 along with a handful of additional tracks and beats from Drake, Eve, Young Money and a few other artists who would love to let you work on your flow with their handiwork.

Amid their quests to expand "FarmVille" onto iPads and combat privacy breach accusations this year, Zynga has also been putting together a new "-Ville" title for their list of credits, and it's taking their concept into a decidedly more urban setting.

Earlier this year, I was able to check out Astro's A30 headset. Astro is known as one of the most popular headset brands for professional gamers, but the earlier A40 model was simply too bulky for casual use. Astro's answer was to make the A30s, which were smaller and more portable. And even though they sounded great, there was a problem. As a glasses-wearer, it's tough to wear headsets for longer than a half hour, as the pressure for the ear cups starts to get uncomfortable. So I recommended the A30's to everyone but glasses-wearers. Thankfully, those myopic souls now have an alternative.

Prospective beta recruits apparently aren't the only ones out there getting clued in about Microsoft Game Studios' new "1 vs. 100" gambling descendant "Full House Poker." The Australian government appears to know a few things about it, too, and they've issued a General rating with some bare-bones details to prove it.
