If Black Friday shopping doesn't qualify as your ideal way to celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend, Rockstar Games proposes something a little different. It's been awhile since they last offered double experience points for "Red Dead Redemption," and now that their Undead Nightmare DLC pack is coming to retail on a disc, they've opted to celebrate by making it a little easier for everyone to level up for a few days.
From 12:01AM Eastern on Thursday, November 25 until 11:59 PM Eastern on Sunday, November 28, "RDR" will be honoring double XP rewards for everything you do in online multiplayer mode, according to the official Rockstar Games blog.
If you're already maxed out, then, well, you are very special, and you won't be able to benefit from this offer. If you've had your eye on a few levels worth of character bolstering, however, this is the Thanksgiving weekend that you've been waiting for.
As far as modes and activities for gaining XP go, Rockstar has been generous thus far in opening up various competitions. Even if you can't start a match, chances are you can still participate in one of their recent add-ons, whether you're on a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
And if you'd rather spend your time getting trampled in a parking lot somewhere or watching football, I'm sure Rockstar will understand. Just don't expect them to turn around and do this again anytime soon.
