"Dynasty Warriors 7" became official this year at Tokyo Game Show, and Tecmo Koei looks like they want to get it out onto the Japanese market fairly quickly. The new sequel hasn't been announced for North America or the Xbox 360 yet, but it will be playable in 3-D when Japan gets it for the PlayStation 3 in March 2011.
This preview has been pulled due to a miscommunication about the embargo. Apologies! It'll return on November 5.

"Rock Band 3" launches tomorrow, so many of the reporters here have been polling celebrities to determine which of them has the ability to take on Dio's "Rainbow In The Dark" on Expert (among other feats). We expect bands like "All Time Low" to have experience with the "Rock Band" franchise, but every once in a while we get someone that we never would've guessed is a fan of the series. Surprise fan of the day? None other than Martha Stewart.

In addition to making their Undead Nightmare DLC available for "Red Dead Redemption this week, Rockstar Games has a few freebies they want to slip your way in the form of an automatic patch. Part of it will be necessary if you want to get in on those new multiplayer modes, and a few bug fixes will be included as well.

Although the London-based developer Ignition Entertainment may have survived some heavy layoffs and restructuring, its game "WarDevil" was reportedly not so fortunate. The game had been in development for five years, and its end may have meant that about 30 employees no longer have jobs, but the studio won't vanish entirely for now.

The Noble Map Pack DLC for "Halo: Reach" won't available until November 30, but Bungie's put together a trailer for Anchor 9, Breakpoint and Tempest that you can watch at your leisure between now and the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

"Hitman 5" came up more than a year ago in reference to source material for a movie sequel in a Variety story. At the time it sounded like we might see a new game in 2010, but it's probably safe to assume that that's off the table now. Still, actor David Bateson, who's provided Agent 47's voice in the past, seems to know something about a new installment, even if IO Interactive admits to nothing.

This weekend I experienced my very first BlizzCon in all its shiny, semi-newsy, Cosplay-rrific glory. As a veteran of such celebrated annual gatherings like GenCon and Comic-Con, I was prepared for the crowds, impressive costumes, etc. I was not prepared for how awesome the "WoW" and "StarCraft" live tournaments are, nor how many love connections have been made via BlizzCon - more on that later.

EA has yet to give us a great lean back version of "The Sims." I feel like that has a lot to do with the PC-focused legacy of "The Sims" than anything else. Even console-exclusive joints like "The Urbz " continued to utilize many of its brethrens' mechanics and systems, making for a clumsy title despite EA's obvious aspirations for "The Sims" console domination. Alas, things were supposed to be different this time around with the release of "The Sims 3" for consoles, and while I'd love to scream mission accomplished I just... can't.

Sony's next-generation PlayStation Portable has reportedly been sighted in places other than the Netherrealm offices, and though the PSP 2 didn't emerge from the shadows for E3 in 2010, Sony may be leading developers to believe that the potential iPad competitor will be ready to slide into consumers' hands for Fall 2011.
