When EA Sports made the call to delay "NBA Elite 11," they also decided to release their previously Wii-exclusive "NBA Jam" as a standalone product for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The wording of that announcement had many wondering whether "Jam" would come out as a downloadable or disc-based game for the two consoles, but EA has now gone on the record to establish that it will come in a case at your local brick-and-mortar retailer.

Hip-hop has risen from the streets to be one of the most prolific and lucrative genres of music, but it's never really been playable in any game, leaving fans in the dust while all their friends were rocking out. But now two companies with respectable pedigrees, Def Jam's music and Konami's rhythm games, have finally come together to feed the hungry masses with "Def Jam Rapstar."

In the spirit of Gaijin Games' first four Bit.Trip titles, including "Bit.Trip Beat" and "Bit.Trip Runner," their latest large-pixeled creation "Bit.Trip Fate" will bring retro-styled graphics and chiptune-inspired music together when it comes out on October 25. When I first learned that Rockstar was going to be adding zombies to "Red Dead Redemption," I'll admit there was a palpable eye-roll. Zombies, it seems, have become the norm in video games lately, and for a company that has always prided itself on innovation, it seemed like an odd choice for Rockstar to make. But, after playing through about an hour of the DLC pack, entitled "Undead Nightmare," I'm absolutely on-board.

Sega kicked off their re-introduction of Dreamcast classics via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network with "Sonic Adventure" in September, and their mission will continue next month when "Crazy Taxi" finally slams into Microsoft and Sony's consoles.

Remember way back at the beginning of the year when it looked like "Gran Turismo 5" might finally come out? It proceeded to show up on a list of 3-D-ready PlayStation 3 games and began unveiling its more than 200 cars and innovative browser racing features, but the November launch that was set just isn't going to happen.

The Doors were one of the first bands that came to mind for a lot of us as soon as keyboards were revealed to be a part of "Rockband 3." In fact, the Ray Manzarek fans among us wondered not only if the keyboardist's band would be included, but how many of their tracks would make the cut. The group appeared on the full track list for the new game, and today the "Rock Band 3" team announced that Jim Morrison and company would also get to be featured in the first batch of DLC after the game ships on October 26.

M.I.A. has strong negative opinions about violent video games, but she's all about dancing and music games, as are her other fellow recording artists whose tracks appear on the full "Dance Central" track list that's been announced. Lady Gaga, Rihanna and the Beastie Boys also show up on the Kinect title's soundtrack, which should inspire much shaking and twisting.
