'Borderlands' Level Cap Increase Still Coming

Posted 10/28/10 12:14 pm EST by Brian Warmoth in News

Borderlands

"Borderlands" has expanded with a relentless stream of DLC this year. Gearbox was supposed to make a new patch/game update available with "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution," though, and it's experienced some delays. It's reportedly still coming, however, and you may be able to reach that fabled level 58 in just a few weeks.

An eight-level cap increase will be a part of an update that's nearing completion, according to a post on Shacknews. That means level 58 caps for core game owners and the potential to reach level 69 for those with "Secret Armory of General Knoxx" DLC installed.

According to the report, you'll also see the following:

• End game players that have completed play-through #2 will see enemies scale to the new levels up to the new level cap.

• Item drops (with the exception of COM Decks) will also scale with higher level enemies to the new level cap.

• Other fixes, including DLC4 Achievement/Trophy glitches that have affected some users will be corrected to properly award players for obtaining these achievements no matter which order they were completed in.

And it's all in the late stages of approval and finalization, so hopefully everything will be set sometime in November. Glitch fixes are always nice to see, especially if they involve restoring your rightfully earned Achievements and Trophies that you've slaved over for months.

Have you been anxiously awaiting this patch for "Borderlands"? Have you been satisfied with Gearbox's DLC roll-out for the game? Share your opinions with us in the comment section below.
