First 'Halo: Reach' Map Additions Coming Via Noble Map Pack

Posted 10/14/10 12:38 pm EST by Brian Warmoth in News, Xbox 360

Halo Reach Breakpoint

Bungie's made good on their pledge to support "Halo: Reach" post-launch thus far with the addition of campaign matchmaking and by doling out punishments for cheaters. The Noble Map Pack may represent the most welcome move of all, though, when Bungie makes their new multipalyer spaces available through Xbox Live on November 30.

The Noble Pack will include three multiplayer worlds — Tempest, Anchor 9 and Breakpoint — which will include 250 Gamerscore and cost 800 Microsoft Points, according to information distributed by Bungie. Tempest and Anchor 9 will support Free for All, Team Slayer and Team Objective modes, while Tempest and Breakpoint will allow Big Team Battle matches and Breakpoint will have an additional Invasion option. As for player numbers, Tempest and Breakpoint have enough room for 8-16 competitors, and Anchor 9 will serve 2-8.

The maps will come out just two days after the deadline for submissions in Bungie's Forgetacular 2010 Contest, which will be accepting submissions from the Halo's home-sculpted map community until November 28.

The new maps cover an orbiting base, an icy terrain and a shoreline facility, which should combine plenty of familiar elements with some fresh "Reach" gameplay. Meanwhile, if you don't like what you're reading about, consider it your mission between now and November 28 to submit your own maps to Bungie and show 'em what you can do yourself.

Are your ready for some new "Halo: Reach" maps? Do you think the Noble Map Pack stages will deliver everything that they should, or do you plan on making your own? Share your responses with us in the comment section below.
