'Dragon Age 2' BioWare Signature Edition Attempts To Sweeten Pre-Orders

Posted 10/14/10 6:15 pm EST by Brian Warmoth in News

Dragon Age 2 BioWare Signature Edition

Back in August, BioWare presented the world with trailer and a March 2011 release dates for "Dragon Age 2," and this week they decided to start prodding you for your pre-orders. Luckily for those who planned on purchasing the sequel, that prodding didn't come with any extra costs; instead, the company has announced that pre-orders received by January 11 will be upgraded to a BioWare Signature Edition package that comes with an extra playable character, new missions, a digital copy of the "DA2" soundtrack and a special in-game armory with additional items.

"Over the past 15 years, we've been privileged to have the support of a passionate community of fans, who continue to grow in number with every game we release," Electronic Arts senior VP and co-founder and group general manager Dr. Ray Muzyka said in a press release. "The BioWare Signature Edition of 'Dragon Age 2' is a chance for us to reward loyal fans who pre-order the game by providing them with additional high-quality content for free."

The exclusive armory's stock will include the Apostate's Courage, Seeker's Bulwark, Adder of Antiva and Might of the Sten, according to the Dragon Age site. The names of the character and missions are still a secret, but BioWare says the full payload of content shipping with the Signature Edition is worth $20.

I'd kind of like to see a breakdown explaining where that nice, round, attractive figure came from, but this does look like a fine offer. Free is free, after all.

Has BioWare convinced you to pre-order "Dragon Age 2" with their Signature Edition? If not, what would it take to grab your interest? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
