All 'DJ Hero 2' Pre-Order Incentives Are Not Created Equal

Posted 10/6/10 5:42 pm EST by Brian Warmoth in News, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360

DJ Hero 2 pre-order

All of the mixes and tracks by artists like RZA, DJ Qbert and DJ Shadow may have already convinced you to pre-order "DJ Hero 2," but if they haven't, Activision and the retailers selling its game want you to know they have incentives. Look over their array of shiny things carefully, too, because depending on where you go, you could end up with anything from a couple of downloadable tracks to Puma carrying case.

The turntable controller bag available to Gamestop customers is valued at $45, according to a press release. Amazon.com will be offering MP3 downloads of "I Remember" and "Move for Me" by Deadmau5 and Kaskade, while Best Buy has a hard-shell turntable carrying case that converts to a stand and instant access to Deadmau5 as an in-game character. Walmart rounds out the list with a free copy of the first "DJ Hero," which sounds mighty persuasive if you didn't pick it up before now.

Keep track of which version you're buying and whether you want a Party Bundle or or Turntable Bundle, though, because some of these offers are version-specific. Meanwhile if you're a Deadmau5 fan, you'll want to check out his official site, because he's got exclusives as well, such as T-shirts, collectibles and wristbands.

The game comes out on October 19, though, so get your decision-making process rolling. With a list this long, it could take you awhile.

Do you think you'll end up pre-ordering "DJ Hero 2"? Which retailer's exclusive stands to you as the most compelling? Share your responses with us in the comment section below.
