Call of Duty Black Ops

Much like their neighbors in Switzerland, Germany holds content in their video games to slightly more stringent standards than other countries on occasion. "Call of Duty: Black Ops" will have to be activated for PC; that shouldn't surprise anyone. But Germans looking to get their war on with "Black Ops" will have to buy a special Austria edition of the game and will run into some problems if they try reaching outside of their region see what North America is playing.

Mortal Kombat Jax

2011's Mortal Kombat revamp from Warner Bros. is heading back to the series' roots with violent 2-D gamplay and and a lot of old characters from the first three games. The game's creative director and MK's creator Ed Boon has now confirmed that Major Jackson "Jax" Briggs will be among those characters, and it looks like he'll be bringing his robo-arms along for the pain.

Super Crate Box

So you're stuck at work after spending all night trying to get past that one level in "Super Meat Boy." You're reliving your failure over and over again in your mind, and the only way to get over it is to play something equally insanely difficult and frustrating. Enter "Super Crate Box," which happens to share 10 similar letters with Team Meat's platformer. They're not related, but they are both punishingly difficulty and incredibly well-made. As an added bonus, "Super Crate Box" is free.

FEAR 3

Warner Bros. brought on some serious horror expertise for "F.E.A.R. 3" by recruiting John Carpenter and Steve Niles. Now, they've got a serious release date of March 22, 2011 as well. The blood-soaked sequel with some innovative plans for its co-op play has opted for a launch closer to St. Patrick's Day than Halloween, but WBIE will still be stashing various treats into pre-orderers' boxes when it hits, such as comic books and extra weaponry.

Keiji Inafune

Capcom's global research and development operations are going to have a new face (or several) now that 23-year company veteran and Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune has announced that he'll be leaving at the end of the month. Infune has voiced a great deal of excitement this year over projects ranging from "Mega Man Legends 3" on the Nintendo 3DS and "Mega Man Universe" to "Dead Rising 2" and his "Zombrex Dead Rising Sun" serial. He wants new challenges, however, and that real-life quest has move him to look beyond Capcom.

Watching the above gameplay footage of "Michael Jackson: The Experience," the upcoming dance game from Ubisoft, you may be a little confused on how one would actually play it. It is, after all, on the Wii, which has no camera, and there's no "Dance Dance Revolution"-style mat to track your motions. How does the game know that you're matching every Moonwalk and crotch grab to perfection? Turns out, it's all in the wrist.

Hybrid

If you've doodled around in 5th Cell's "Scribblenauts" or "Super Scribblenauts," you probably weren't expecting to see the studio's next project turn out to be a third-person shooter that looks distinctly more "Killzone 3"-ish. They've unleashed some announcement teases for an Xbox Live Arcade title called "Hybrid," though, and that's exactly the kind of game they appear to have in store.

Killzone 3

In the age of $100-plus special-edition game packages such as the "Call of Duty: Black Ops" Prestige Edition and the "Crysis 2" Nano Edition, we all expected to see Guerrilla Games come up with something large for "Killzone 3." For a brief moment, I thought their replica Helghast helmet was going to be a functional gas mask. Alas, that's not the case, but the bundle does come with some other special supplies.

Team Fortress 2

Can't say I ever expected to see anything resembling a "boss fight" in "Team Fortress 2," but it seems Valve is full of surprises. Today marks the release of the Halloween-themed update for the game, and it contains a brand new character: the Horseless Headless Horsemann. See, he's just like the headless horseman from "Sleepy Hollow," but without, you know, the horse. He's still got the axe and the pumpkin head, though!
