The GameStop pre-order listing for "FlingSmash" that included a mysterious "Wii Remote Plus" has not been restored since it was taking down from the retailer's website last week, but Nintendo isn't trying to pull any Jedi mind tricks on us about what we saw. In fact, they've outright acknowledged that the device is not a figment of our imaginations.

Kane and Lynch director

Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx may be onboard for Nu Image/Millennium and Lionsgate's "Kane and Lynch" movie, but the film, which was looking for a director a few months ago and seemed to have found a winner with Frenchman Patrick Alessandrin of "District 13: Ultimatum," now has an open chair available once again and an October start date for production has reportedly been delayed.

Wii Remote Plus

Nintendo began packaging Wii MotionPlus in with its standard Wii bundles earlier this year, but thus far they've held off on releasing redesigned standard Wii Remotes that integrate their 360-degree functionality. The company's workshop may have finally caught up with Nyko and had a change of heart, though, from the looks of a "FlingSmash" box that clearly reads, "Bonus Wii Remote Plus Inside!"

The Last Guardian

Before "The Last Guardian" becomes a movie, it's got to become a published game, and a lot of "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus" fans would like nothing more than to see than happen. Unless you've handled a controller to demo the game, though, it's kind of hard to get an idea of exactly what you're controlling and how the gameplay works. Thankfully, someone has decided to clear the air about that.

EA has been trying hype up the "Medal of Honor" reboot with Linkin Park music and exclusive guns, but they've still managed to attract negative attention from critics decrying the game's use of playable Taliban fighters. Original "Mad Max" creator and director George Miller had been steadily pushing his new sequel "Mad Max: Fury Road" toward production recently, and "God of War 2" producer Cory Barlog has been working behind the scenes to get an accompanying game out. What's really interesting, however, is that Barlog recently paid a visit to Stockholm, Sweden, home of the the "Just Cause 2" developers at Avalanche Studios, and the pieces look like they fit together when you compare some company info from Sweden’s Invest ICT project this year with Barlog's tweets.

Civilization V

Developer Pop Quiz is a weekly interview series in which we ask developers from around the industry the same 10 questions and post their responses.

It's always inspiring to see someone go from playing a game that they love, to working on it, and that's exactly what happened for Firaxis Games' Brian Wade. "Civilization" is one of the most sprawling, robust games ever released, and it just keeps getting bigger with each iteration, and the latest release, "Civilization 5," is leaps and bounds different from the "Civ 3" closed beta that was Wade's break into the industry, and his story of how he got there is proof that persistence pays off.

Enslaved movie

The developers behind the new, rebooted "Devil May Cry" were thinking big with "Enslaved" even before the game was announced. The same forward thinking that's led to a pre-release DLC announcement also could have generated a full-length CGI movie, but Hollywood just was interested.

Shadow of the Colossus movie

Misher Films' "Shadow of the Colossus" movie is still moving along, and as Team ICO pushes forward with remastered editions of "Ico" and "Shadow," as well as a new title called "The Last Guardian," their Hollywood friends might be interested in locking down a few more deals. Selling "Shadow" to execs wasn't the easiest task in the world apparently, but now that it's in, Sony Pictures could be getting a few more pitches.
