While Treyarch was dragging its feet committing to zombies in "Call of Duty: Black Ops" this year, Rockstar Games was much more up front early on that they would create an undead-themed DLC release for "Red Dead Redemption." Now, they've even put together some artwork to hype it up.

UPDATE: Added impressions of co-op and "Terror Is Reality" based on final retail code.
It was hard to not be impressed with the original "Dead Rising." It was one of the first games that actually felt next gen and offered up a wholly original style of play and sense of humor. It wasn't perfect, but it did manage to collect a solid number of fans, myself included. "Dead Rising 2" is the next step for the franchise, and while it doesn't depart dramatically from the original, certain improvements and features make it a more enjoyable experience than the first.

If you're playing through "Dead Rising 2" as you're supposed to, saving survivors, completing cases, and building weapons, you're not going to stumble upon a ton of cash. Sure, you can bash open slot machines, but that's only going to net you a few hundred bucks. And, with some of the pricier objects in the game costing millions of dollars, you're going to need to make money fast. Thankfully there's a relatively easy way to make a few hundred grand every 10 minutes. Here's how!

"NBA Jam" finally broke free from the shackles of Wii exclusivity this week as EA Sports revealed that "NBA Elite 11" has been delayed and their reboot of the two-on-two arcade classic will be sold on its own for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Originally announced as a Wii-only title, rumors and speculation gradually chipped away at that status for most of 2010 until it was finally outed as a freebee to be included with the 360 and PS3 editions "Elite 11." The rumor mill has finally come full circle, however.

The Prince of Persia series has seen some radical visual upgrades since its early days on the Atari ST and Apple II. The series put out "The Forgotten Sands" for modern consoles, PC and portable devices this year, as well as the big-budget action movie "The Sands of Time" that updated the franchise's hero with the face of Jake Gyllenhaal. At one point in history, the PoP in-game story nearly took a leap forward as well though.

I never really considered "hook-based racing" a valid game genre, but Rocketcat Games managed to prove me wrong twice with "Hook Champ" and "Super Quick Hook." Both games are among the best software to be found in the App Store, and when you've got a good thing going, why change it? Rocketcat is working on a brand new hook-based racing game entitled "Hook Swing Worlds" which is set to launch in October for 99 cents.

Retailers seem to know a lot more about zombie features in "Call of Duty: Black Ops" than Treyarch does. Not only did Best Buy initially list "Four Zombie Map Packs" for the Hardened Edition of the game that Activision didn't include when the special editions were announced; now, online retail entries and the press release for a new strategy guide seem assured that the dead will rise again for the new title.

As you can probably surmise from the title, "LEGO Universe" is a LEGO-based online game. You've got all the LEGO staples, from the knob-headed, yellow-skinned people to the enemies who explode into bricks. You've also got something that hasn't really appeared in many "LEGO" games: Complete control over what you're building. Players are given personal spaces to create whatever they wish, from pre-fab scenery like castle towers and rocket ships to 100% user-made designs made up of smaller, more traditional LEGO blocks. Are you starting to see the problem we're facing? Yes, people are going to make giant penises.

Did Valve disappoint you back in July when they introduced Versus Survival play and then continued on with their mutation cycle? If so, this week's Versus Survival redux should get your zombie-hunting guns standing at attention. The mode where teams alternate attempts at besting one another's survival times was described in the same language as it was before plus a few added words in an update that also included info about Part 3 of the Mike Oeming comic and the upcoming "Sacrifice" DLC.

If you're getting a late start on Nintendo's latest "Metroid" release, "Metroid: Other M," you should definitely be wary of an issue which has the potential to wipe out all of your progress and start you from square one.
Nintendo has acknowledged a glitch which takes place after obtaining the Ice Beam. If players backtrack and defeat the two-legged spiked enemy nearby, instead of proceeding through the nearby door, their save game will officially be FUBAR. And, because Nintendo doesn't do software updates for individual titles, it won't be fixed anytime soon.
There is an alternative, though. Nintendo is offering to repair any glitched save games, free of charge. Now for the hitch: You have to mail your save game all the way to Japan. Specifically:
