"Halo: Reach" has been having disagreements extending beyond the "Fall of Reach" novel, according to accounts from 4GB Xbox 360 owners who've hit snags while trying to join co-op campaign missions. The problem seems to stem from a memory issue that affected "Halo O.D.S.T." as well, but people are reportedly on the case behind the scenes.
"We are aware of the issue and are quickly working to resolve it," a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer.
A screencap taken by Nukezilla shows the error message "One or more players do not have an Xbox 360 Hard Drive. An Xbox 360 Hard Drive is required to play co-op on Xbox LIVE or system link," which according to the official "Halo: Reach" FAQ indicates "One or more players do not have a certified Xbox 360 hard drive attached to their Xbox 360 console."
Memory sticks haven't been solving the problem either, so unless MS comes up with a solution soon, the only way for 4GB model owners to play co-op missions may be for them to buy separate 250GB HDD's when they come out, which kind of defeats the purpose of buying the 4GB model to begin with. MS did use the word "quickly," however, so hang tight if you happen to be affected by the situation right now as we all find out how fast their trouble-shooting team can work.
