Next Resident Evil Movie Sequel Confirmed By Milla Jovovich

Posted 9/14/10 5:17 pm EST by Brian Warmoth in News

Resident Evil Afterlife

"Resident Evil: Afterlife" beat "Resident Evil 6" to audiences' wallets, and now the race is on to see if Capcom will put a new sequel out before Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson can do a fifth film. The series' star said that her latest performance at the box office was enough to make everyone want to depict evil zombie mayhem at least one more time.

"This new Resident Evil is the first one to ever open at No. 1 worldwide. It’s the biggest movie in the franchise," Jovovich told New York Magazine's Vulture blog. "So we're definitely going to make another one."

In fact, Anderson already has some concepts in mind, and they plan on leveraging their Twitter followers' imaginations to help construct "Resident Evil 5."

"We've been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it's probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see," she explained. "It's going to be a more interactive process."

So far, glancing over the recent shout-outs to Milla on Twitter, I see one request for a lesbian love triangle, one more for "millions" of zombies in 3D and lots and lots of enthusiastic Brazilians whose Portuguese I unfortunately cannot understand. Thus, I think we can all safely conclude that "Resident Evil 5" the movie will include millions of Brazilian lesbian zombies in 3D. Has that ever been done before?

What approach do you want to see to the "Resident Evil 5" film? Have you seen "Afterlife" yet? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
