PlayStation Move Update For 'Heavy Rain' Hits September 22

Posted 9/13/10 6:44 pm EST by Brian Warmoth in News, PS3

Heavy Rain Move support

"Heavy Rain" support for PlayStation Move may have put the brakes on DLC plans for Quantic Dream's dark series of subtle actions and plot twists. SCEA is ready to push forward with the game's new update, though, and they'll unleash it via a patch and subsequent demo beginning on September 22.

"We are extremely excited to announce that Heavy Rain will be available to play on PlayStation Move motion peripherals starting on September 22," SCEA product marketing manager Jefferson Dong wrote on the official PlayStation blog.

Sony could be hoping to squeeze a few more sales out of the market, too, since they're giving away the game's two early levels "Sleazy Place" and "Crime Scene" on a PlayStation Store demo that will be downloadable on September 28. You'll need a Move controller and PlayStation Eye camera to use it, of course, but it should be worth a go if you buy a Move and don't already own "Heavy Rain." If you do own "Heavy Rain," your Move support should be easily installable via the patch.

"For those of you who already have a copy of 'Heavy Rain,' we will be releasing the 'Heavy Rain' Move patch on Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Just boot up Heavy Rain (assuming you also have an internet connection) and it will automatically download to your PS3," Dong explained. "This free patch will allow current owners of 'Heavy Rain' to play the game with the new PlayStation Move controls and experience a whole new way of playing 'Heavy Rain.'"

How new and exciting will it be? Well, you'll have to gage that for yourself after the patch arrives.

Do you think PS Move controls will get you to play through "Heavy Rain" one more time? Would you have liked to have them around the first time you picked the game up? Share your expectations in the comment section below.
