Oddworld Inhabitants brought together their four original titles for their "Oddbox" anthology on Steam, but their relationship with Just Add Water is apparently going to produce a total of six franchise projects, the first of which will come to light with the release of the "Stranger's Wrath" HD remake for PlayStation 3.
"As I've said in the past the relationship is very symbiotic, whilst we are doing the work on it, we like to involve [Oddworld Inhabitants], so they can see progress, they can suggest things, we can ask their thoughts/opinions on stuff, it's very much a co-production in some respects," JAW managing director Stewart Gilray told Joystiq.
Though Oddworld Inhabitants will still own their franchise and characters, JAW will be handling publishing details, likely through Sony across the board. They're going to run out of games to remake, however, if they plan on rolling out six titles. If "Stranger's Wrath" is a success, I'm sure we can count on more core series HD remakes, but it looks like they may have to produce something new to reach their quota.
Whether that means there's a previously unheard of game in the works or they've been snooping around Lorne Lanning's files to piece together the defunct "Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot," we may not know until further announcements surface, but Oddworld fans should be seeing plenty of game launches in the near future to keep their interest.
