Crysis 2

Some of us who read about "Crysis 2" getting pushed into 2011 wondered what was going to become of that leaked "Crysis 2" Nano Edition, as well as that beta test that was supposed to happen this autumn. Well, EA sent out a press release, and those details now seem to be ironed out.

Dragon Age 2

"Dragon Age 2" won't quite make it out for a release date in February 2011, but the good news is that it is now officially expected to launch in North America on March 8 and in Europe on March 11. A new trailer also debuted with the calendar commitment, and you can find it embedded after the jump.

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One

UPDATE: Added the live action teaser for "Resistance 3" down below, as posted on Insomniac's official YouTube page.

For a series that's always been about a furry hero and his robot pal, it's kinda surprising "Ratchet & Clank" didn't jump on the co-op bandwagon sooner. Seems that Insomniac Games is making up for lost time, though, as they've just announced a co-op-centric installment to the long-running franchise: "Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One." The game, scheduled for 2011, will allow for 4-player online co-op, as well as same-system drop-in, drop-out.

Windows Phone 7 games

Microsoft took one more step in their march toward cross-platform mobile gaming over Xbox Live at GamesCom this week. While the services being provided to Windows Phone 7 systems were addressed earlier this year, the complete list of Live-enabled titles that Microsoft unveiled was fresh and extensive, even if names like "Fruit Ninja" and "Star Wars: Battle for Hoth" will be familiar to iPhone users. Check it out after the jump.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm

What I'm about to tell you is going to shock you to your core: Blizzard is releasing a collector's edition for "World of WarCraft: Cataclysm." Feel free to take a few moments to compose yourself.

Oh right, Blizzard releases a Collector's Edition of every single one of their games. Well, nevermind then.

The "Cataclysm" Collector's Edition will be sold for $80, which is twenty bucks less than the "StarCraft 2" Collector's Edition and includes the following doodads:

Mass Effect 2

As someone who really didn't like the first "Mass Effect," I can honestly say that "Mass Effect 2" completely turned me around on the franchise. It's easily one of BioWare's best games and should be lauded for its story, combat systems and great characters. Unfortunately, PS3 owners had to sit on the sidelines as all the great "Mass Effect 2" reviews came rolling in earlier this year, but their wait will come to a close in January of 2011.

Wii tablet

This generation's Nintendo console finally has an equivalent to the "Mario Paint" mouse, but it's coming out from THQ instead of Nintendo, and it already has more games listed to appear at launch, including "Pictionary" and "Dood's Big Adventure," as well as a software suite called "uDraw Studio" that will bring a host of creative options to the Wii.

Harry Potter And the Deathly Hollows

During Microsoft's unveiling of Kinect during E3, there weren't exactly a bevy of action games shown. In fact, only "Star Wars" springs to mind, and that wasn't much more than a tech demo. At this year's GamesCom festival, however, Microsoft showed off a Kinect-supporting action game that's much closer to release: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1."

James and Oliver Phelps, also known as the Weasley twins, took the stage to demonstrate the game's Kinect support, which involved a lot of arm-waving to recreate certain spells. Unfortunately it's hard to say exactly how the controls work or how one actually moves his or her character (there may be a separate "Kinect" mode which automates movement. Hopefully we'll be able to get additional impressions of how "Harry Potter" uses Kinect from the show floor.

Gun Loco

Square Enix will release its new prison planet escape game "Gun Loco" exclusively for the Xbox 360, and it's a fair bet that action figures will be be made available at some point thereafter. The third-person competition among inmates features character concepts designed by toy maker Kenny Wong of kennyworks and will include black humor as well as 12-player online multiplayer matches.

DoTA concerns

Word of a Steam-friendly "Defense of the Ancients" project from Valve this month was quickly followed by news of a "DotA" trademark that was filed by the company. A couple of developers who worked on "DotA Allstars" have some concerns about how that's going to work since the current ecosystem of "DotA" mods has benefited from community involvement and contributions.
